Bonfire Engineering and Construction is seeking an experienced and driven Construction Manager to oversee telecommunications fiber construction projects in Los Alamos, New Mexico. This full-time, field-based role is ideal for a seasoned professional with strong leadership skills and deep expertise in Outside Plant (OSP) telecommunications construction. The Construction Manager will play a critical role in delivering high-quality broadband infrastructure while championing company culture and operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities of the Role

• Oversee telecommunications fiber construction projects from planning to completion
• Manage FTTH (Fiber to the Home) infrastructure deployment including aerial, trenching, boring, micro-trenching, fiber placement, splicing, and testing
• Conduct field inspections and ensure subcontractor compliance with project standards and permitting requirements
• Enforce production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols
• Manage material logistics and daily production reporting
• Ensure QA/QC compliance across all construction activities
• Resolve field construction issues, delays, and emergencies
• Serve as liaison between landowners, permitting agencies, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Organize and lead pre-construction and post-construction meetings
• Mentor and guide junior field inspectors
• Provide progress reports to Senior Project Managers, Area Construction Manager, and Engineering leadership
• Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and permitting requirements

Requirements About Job

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience overseeing telecommunications fiber projects
• Extensive knowledge of OSP telecommunications construction deliverables
• Experience with FTTH (Fiber to the Home) projects
• Strong understanding of GPON/XGS-PON technologies
• Experience with permitting, rights-of-way (ROW), installation, and turn-up processes
• Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings
• Proven leadership experience in field management
• Fieldwork availability (daily site visits required; remote work not available)
• Successful completion of background check, employment verification, and drug screening
