KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Gardener, your duties may include:
Grounds & Landscape Maintenance
- Maintaining landscaped areas, sidewalks, driveways, building entrances, and assigned grounds
- Pruning and shaping shrubs and trees to promote healthy growth and enhance appearance
- Mowing, trimming, and edging turf areas in line with the established landscape plan
- Planting, mulching, and supporting seasonal displays as required
Plant Care & Pest Control
- Identifying pest and disease issues affecting turf, shrubs, and trees
- Applying appropriate treatments for insect, weed, and disease control
- Carrying out regular fertilisation according to established plans
General Duties & Support
- Performing diverse landscaping tasks, including minor hard landscaping repairs such as small concrete or stucco work
- Completing irrigation checks and basic irrigation repairs
- Resolving routine issues and escalating complex matters when required
- Working independently, with team members, or alongside volunteers

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
The following are neede to qualify for the job
Essential Requirements
- One to two years of experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, gardening, agriculture, landscaping, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of plants and fertilisers with a willingness to continue learning
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Capability to meet the physical demands of outdoor work, including standing, kneeling, walking, lifting, and working in varied weather conditions
- Legal eligibility to work in New Zealand
Additional Requirement
- Must be a member of the Church in good standing and hold a current temple recommend
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role involves:
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Physically active tasks such as lifting, bending, kneeling, and extended walking
- On-site duties within temple grounds
- Independent and team-based responsibilities
