Key Responsibilities
As a truck trailer mechanic, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Inspect and test mechanical units to identify faults and malfunctions.
- Review work orders and discuss repair requirements with the supervisor.
- Confirm diagnostic findings with the supervisor before repairing or replacing components.
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems.
- Test and adjust repaired systems according to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and servicing.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines.
- Work on electrical and electronic systems.
- Repair brake, fuel, and emission systems.
- Perform diagnostics on truck and trailer equipment.
- Service alignment, steering, and suspension systems.
- Repair automatic transmission systems.
- Carry out welding and truck-trailer repair work where required.
- Complete reports documenting problems identified and work performed.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and proper repair standards.
