Responsibilities
As a Caregiver, your primary responsibilities will include:
Personal Care & Daily Living Assistance
- Assisting with ambulation, bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming, and toileting
- Providing medication reminders
- Supporting exercise routines and mobility
- Assisting with transferring and positioning
- Performing skin, hair, nail, and mouth care
Home & Household Support
- Light housekeeping (dusting, vacuuming, washing floors)
- Kitchen and bathroom cleaning
- Laundry and bed making/changing
- Meal planning and preparation
- Assisting clients with special dietary plans
Companionship & Emotional Support
- Providing social interaction and meaningful conversation
- Offering emotional reassurance and encouragement
- Engaging clients in mentally stimulating activities
Client Support & Coordination
- Escorting clients to medical appointments, errands, and outings
- Assisting with essential shopping and errands (as outlined in the care plan)
- Supporting communication by writing or typing correspondence
- Providing respite care for family members
- Monitoring client safety and reporting unsafe conditions
- Following written care plans and agency policies
- Participating in care team discussions and offering input
Requirements
- Ability to provide personal care and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Strong commitment to maintaining client dignity and confidentiality
- Reliable transportation (if transportation of clients is required)
- Ability to follow written care plans and agency guidelines
- Ability to pass background screening (if required by agency policy)
- Physical ability to assist with lifting, transferring, and mobility support
