KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Truck Driver, your duties will include:

Driving & Transportation

  • Operate light and special-purpose trucks safely and efficiently
  • Transport goods and materials locally
  • Load and unload goods securely
  • Tarp and secure cargo to ensure safety during transport

Route Planning & Efficiency

  • Plan and adjust routes using GPS and navigation systems
  • Minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch

Safety & Vehicle Maintenance

  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
  • Inspect tires, brakes, lights, and equipment
  • Carry out preventive maintenance
  • Complete inspection, logbook, and incident reports

Customer Service & Communication

  • Address customer questions, concerns, or complaints professionally
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and communication

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify, you need the following:

Essential Requirements

  • Valid Class G / 5 / 5F Driver’s Licence
  • 1 to less than 2 years of truck driving experience
  • WHMIS Certification
  • Clean driver’s abstract

Education

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Technical Skills

  • Experience operating GPS and navigation equipment
  • Knowledge of driver logbooks and inspection documentation

LANGUAGES

  • English: Required

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role involves:

  • On-site work only (no remote option)
  • Dusty work conditions
  • Physically demanding tasks
  • Handling heavy loads (over 45 kg / 100 lbs)
  • Repetitive tasks and extended sitting
