This full-time position offers flexible shifts, including day and night schedules, and provides an opportunity to care for seniors in a welcoming, home-like residential environment.

Hamlet House is a non-profit Adult Family Home providing high-quality residential care for individuals aged 55 and older. Located on the scenic Lopez Island in the San Juan Islands, Hamlet House fosters an easy-going island lifestyle while delivering personalized care. Residents enjoy private and communal living spaces with access to local amenities such as restaurants, medical clinics, shops, and seasonal farmers’ markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the home
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals
- Provide medication assistance and ensure residents’ safety
- Support residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing in a home-like environment
- Follow care plans and document care provided accurately
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure quality resident care
Job Requirements
- Current Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) or Health Care Aide (HCA) license in Washington (paid training available if needed)
- Current CPR Certification (can be obtained after hire)
- Current First Aid Certification
- Food Handler’s Permit
- Dementia Specialty Training, Mental Health Specialty Training, and Nurse Delegation preferred
- TB test within the last 12 months
- Previous caregiving experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including day and night
