This full-time role focuses on performing welding and cutting tasks for bridge rehabilitation and heavy highway construction projects while maintaining high-quality workmanship and strict adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and cutting tasks on steel and iron bridge structures
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements
• Utilize various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and arc welding
• Inspect welded surfaces and structures to ensure quality and compliance with specifications
• Operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently
• Prepare welding jobs, including selecting appropriate materials and equipment
• Collaborate with field supervisors and team members to meet project timelines
• Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment
• Work on weekends, nights, and in varying weather conditions as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or welding certification preferred
• Proven experience as a Welder in construction, particularly bridge rehabilitation projects
• AWS D1.5 certification preferred
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and arc welding; experience with oxyacetylene torches, plasma cutters, grinders, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Manual dexterity and strong attention to detail
• Physically able to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, walk, lift at least 50 lbs, and work at heights
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen; subject to random drug testing
