Responsibilities
- Carry out welding and metal fabrication work to support roofing and structural installation projects
- Interpret and follow engineering drawings, project plans, and measurements
- Select and use appropriate welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and manual arc welding
- Cut, fabricate, shape, and assemble metal components such as frames, brackets, and roofing supports
- Set up and position components to ensure correct alignment and fit
- Prepare metal surfaces using angle grinders and cutting tools
- Perform welding in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions
- Inspect welded joints to ensure quality, strength, and durability
- Maintain welding tools and equipment in safe working condition
- Comply with workplace health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience, OR
- A Level 4 Certificate or higher qualification, OR
- A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- Ability to work full-time in Auckland
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Physical fitness suitable for manual and on-site work
