Caregiver Jobs in Auckland. Roseridge Healthcare Limited is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver to join our team at our 18-bed rest home facility in Henderson, Auckland. This full-time position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of elderly residents by providing excellent care and building strong relationships with residents and their families.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Serve meals and ensure residents receive proper nutrition and hydration
- Monitor and document vital signs, promptly reporting any changes to nursing staff
- Administer medication as directed by the nurse on duty
- Support residents’ social and recreational engagement
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment including laundry, kitchen, and cleaning duties
- Follow infection control protocols and health and safety policies
- Maintain residents’ privacy, dignity, comfort, and confidentiality
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and management
- Comply with organizational policies related to conduct, timekeeping, and professional appearance
- Report hazards, incidents, and cooperate in investigations as required
Requirements
- Level 4 qualification in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent; OR minimum 3 years’ caregiving experience in a rest home setting if unqualified
- Effective communication skills with residents, families, and team members
- Compassionate, patient, reliable, and hardworking
- Knowledge of health and safety practices in a rest home environment
- Ability to pass NZ police check and drug test, with no criminal convictions
- Physically fit and able to manage demanding tasks
- Experience with dementia care, crisis management, clinical tasks, and conflict resolution
- Competent in MediMap digital medication management system
- Knowledge and experience with Apomorphine Pump therapy (preferred)
- Ability to prepare meals as per rest home menu
- Hold a valid First Aid Certificate and Food Safety Certificate
- NZ residency or valid NZ work visa
- Flexibility to work day and night shifts as needed
- Excellent time management skills
