Tasks and Responsibilities
As a Bakery Manager, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Enhance the reputation of the business by promoting and encouraging best-practice customer service.
- Effectively resolve all customer-related inquiries and complaints.
- Minimize customer complaints and reinforce the store’s returns policy.
- Ensure that sales and gross profit (GP) targets for the department are met or exceeded while controlling wage costs appropriately.
- Monitor sales and identify opportunities to improve upon last year’s figures.
- Maintain 100% price integrity in the department.
- Implement promotional and pricing programs to ensure a competitive, brand-consistent offering.
- Ensure regular maintenance of all bakery equipment and machinery.
- Manage ordering to maintain optimal stock levels and stock turn.
- Source all stock through approved suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and quality checks.
- Handle credits to minimize waste and loss.
- Ensure the store remains fully stocked and appealing throughout trading hours.
- Manage signage and merchandising to drive sales.
- Undertake baking tasks as required.
