The farm operates on 320 hectares of fully irrigated land, milking around 900 cows, and features state-of-the-art facilities including an automated rotary cowshed and modern equipment.


Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily livestock handling and animal health checks
  • Support pasture management and monitor farm performance
  • Carry out general farm maintenance tasks
  • Operate farm machinery and adopt modern farming technologies
  • Work closely with the Farm Manager to ensure smooth operations
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
  • Support environmentally sustainable farming practices

Requirements

  • Valid full driver’s license
  • Availability to work shift schedules (including rostered shifts)
  • Basic understanding of farm operations (preferred)
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to modern farming techniques
  • Commitment to health, safety, and sustainability practices

Skills

  • Experience in livestock handling and pasture management
  • Ability to operate farm machinery confidently
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Proactive and responsible work attitude
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies
  • Respect for cultural values, including willingness to learn te reo Māori and Ngāi Tahu values
