Responsibilities

• Weld metal components to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, motors, generators, and plant equipment.
• Perform welding using gas welding, brazing, arc welding, MIG, TIG, FCAW, and plasma arc methods.
• Conduct thermal cutting, grinding, pre-heating, tack welding, bead welding, and heat-treating processes.
• Repair cracks, fill holes, and modify metal components to required tolerances.
• Weld various metals including aluminum, stainless steel, armor plate, and dissimilar metals such as copper to steel.
• Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, sketches, and work orders.
• Position and clamp metal components using jigs, templates, and guides before welding.
• Ensure full penetration and fusion welding where close tolerances are required.
• Perform welding tasks in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
• Follow all safety procedures and use protective equipment to minimize workplace hazards.
• Assist in equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with welding standards and specifications.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain government security clearance.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
• Certification in American Welding Society (AWS) standards (AWS D17.1 or related certifications), or ability to obtain certification within 60 days of employment.
• Ability to work various shifts including first, second, or third shift.
• Strong understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, and equipment operation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and diagrams.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined or awkward spaces.
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
