Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
- Select and prepare appropriate welding equipment, tools, and materials for each project.
- Cut, shape, and assemble aluminium components using hand tools and welding machinery.
- Perform various welding techniques to fabricate aluminium products and structures.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure proper bead width, penetration, and structural integrity.
- Finish welds using suitable tools and techniques to achieve high-quality results.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure all tools are operating safely and efficiently.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of relevant welding experience in a similar role, or
- A qualification equivalent to NZQF Level 4 (Certificate Level IV) or higher in welding, fabrication, or a related trade.
- Legal eligibility to work in New Zealand, including NZ residency or a valid work visa.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications.
- Commitment to maintaining workplace safety standards.
