Key Responsibilities
- Interpret welding process specifications and technical requirements
- Operate manual, semi-automatic, and automated welding equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding drawings
- Examine completed welds to ensure compliance with standards
- Operate flame-cutting and oxygen arc cutting (AOC) equipment
- Use brakes, shears, and metal-shaping machines for fabrication tasks
- Determine weldability of various materials
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment safely
- Fabricate or repair metal parts using pre-set welding machines
- Start, adjust, monitor, and shut down robotic welding production lines
- Perform minor maintenance and repairs on welding equipment
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and company policies
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Welder in construction or manufacturing
- Strong ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Knowledge of ductwork and mechanical systems
- Experience operating welding and metal fabrication equipment
- Ability to handle physically demanding work
- Reliable and punctual with strong work ethic
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada
