OVERVIEW OF LANGUAGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE

Monette Farms Ltd. welcomes applicants who meet the following criteria:

Languages Required:

  • English (basic communication skills)

Education & Experience:

  • No degree, certificate or diploma required
  • Farming experience is an asset but not mandatory
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or with a valid work permit)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Vegetable Farm Worker, your key duties will include:

  • Planting, cultivating, irrigating, and harvesting vegetable crops
  • Grading produce by size, shape, and quality for market readiness
  • Fertilizing and spraying crops
  • Weeding and maintaining crop health
  • Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment
  • Performing general farm duties and ensuring safety and biosecurity compliance
  • Loading and unloading crates and farm produce using equipment like forklifts or dollies

CROPS HANDLED

You’ll be working with a diverse range of vegetables, including:

  • Bell peppers
  • Cabbage
  • Carrots
  • Cauliflowers
  • Cucumbers
  • Onions
  • Sweet corn
  • Tomatoes
  • Zucchinis
  • Potatoes

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role will involve:

  • Physically demanding work, including lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions in outdoor settings
  • Repetitive tasks and long hours during peak harvest
  • Travel across multiple field locations
  • Working and living in a rural area (staff accommodation available)

REQUIRED SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES
