KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Truck Driver, you will:

  • Plan and adjust routes using GPS or navigation tools to optimize efficiency, minimize fuel use, and reduce carbon emissions.
  • Safely load and unload goods, ensuring cargo is properly secured.
  • Obtain and manage special permits and documentation required for transporting cargo on international routes.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including tires, brakes, lights, and cold storage systems.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance and brake adjustments as required.
  • Carry out emergency roadside repairs when necessary.
  • Monitor and record cargo information, hours of service, mileage, and fuel consumption.
  • Maintain clear communication with dispatchers and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Follow all transportation laws and safety regulations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role involves:

  • Operating primarily from our Brampton-based facility with regional and cross-border routes.
  • Working independently while maintaining strong communication with the dispatch team.
  • Managing both day and occasional long-haul trips as required.
  • Performing hands-on tasks including loading, unloading, and light mechanical checks.
  • Being part of a dependable, safety-focused transport company.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: No experience required — training will be provided.
  • Valid driver’s licence (Class 1 or equivalent).
  • Strong awareness of road safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent navigation and time management skills.
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as loading and unloading.
  • Basic record-keeping and communication skills.
  • Professional attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
