Responsibilities
- Deliver detailed engineering designs, calculations, technical reports, and specifications for civil infrastructure projects.
- Plan and execute engineering activities across concept, preliminary, and detailed design phases.
- Lead and coordinate design teams to ensure quality, technical accuracy, and timely delivery of projects.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated solutions across sectors.
- Prepare and review design documentation in line with relevant standards and client requirements.
- Engage with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to provide updates and technical input.
- Mentor and support junior engineers to foster technical and professional growth.
- Assist in the preparation of bids, tenders, and project proposals.
- Ensure all work adheres to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status preferred, or ability to obtain within an agreed timeframe.
- Australian Citizenship (required for Defence-related projects).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably within a consulting environment.
- Experience across one or more of the following sectors: Defence, Transport, Water, or Building Infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of relevant design codes, guidelines, and standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Skills
- Proficiency in civil design software (e.g., Civil 3D, AutoCAD, 12d, MicroStation).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Leadership and team coordination skills.
- High attention to detail and quality assurance mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
