Responsibilities
- Design engineering of water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, pump stations, and conveyance pipelines.
- Review design requirements, conduct site investigations, perform calculations and modelling.
- Oversee drafting and prepare detailed reports and specifications.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their core business needs.
- Deliver engineering solutions both on-site and off-site.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary and multi-office project teams.
- Identify and manage project and design-related risks.
- Ensure compliance with safety, constructability, operational practices, and relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes.
- Support continuous improvement and maintain commitment to company HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, Quality) systems.
- Occasionally travel as required for project needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in design related to water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance projects.
- Experience working with water utilities or public water authorities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of safety in design, operational practices, and Australian industry standards (including WSAA codes).
- Strong understanding of risk management principles.
- Proven ability to manage small to medium-sized engineering design projects.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
- Experience in consulting environments preferred.
