KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Cashier at Carlyle Liquor Store Inc., your duties will include:
- Operating cash registers and handling customer transactions accurately
- Processing money, cheques, and debit/credit card payments
- Scanning and pricing items efficiently
- Tabulating and collecting total payments for purchases
- Greeting customers and providing friendly, professional service
- Stocking shelves and maintaining a clean counter area
- Wrapping or bagging merchandise for customers
- Monitoring store entrances/exits and ensuring payment verification when required
- Checking customer ID for age verification when selling restricted products (alcohol, lottery, tobacco)

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role involves:
- Working on-site at the Carlyle Liquor Store location (no remote work option)
- Frequent interaction with customers and team members
- Handling cash, point-of-sale systems, and merchandise
- Standing for extended periods and performing light lifting or stocking tasks
- Maintaining a clean, organized checkout area
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
- Experience: Will train (previous cashier or retail experience an asset)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail when handling cash
- Positive attitude and professional appearance
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends or evenings
