KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will:
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely.
- Plan, adjust, and optimize routes using GPS and navigation systems to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, ensuring the vehicle’s safety and mechanical soundness.
- Load and unload cargo, secure loads with proper tarping, and ensure cargo safety at all times.
- Handle trans-border and long-haul routes across provincial and international destinations.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and emergency roadside repairs as needed.
- Record trip details such as distance travelled, fuel consumption, and cargo information in driver logbooks.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and address customer concerns professionally.
- Maintain high standards of safety, courtesy, and compliance with transport regulations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

- Valid commercial driver’s licence and a clean driving record (abstract).
- Experience with flatbed, tractor-trailer, or straight truck operations.
- Strong navigation skills using GPS and other communication systems.
- Ability to complete and maintain trip documentation (logbooks, inspection, and maintenance reports).
- Expertise in mountain and long-haul driving.
- Dependability, professionalism, and attention to safety standards.
- English language proficiency (spoken and written).
