Cornwall Park Trust Board is seeking motivated and passionate individuals to join its farming team as an Apprentice Farm Hand. This full-time, fixed-term role provides the unique opportunity to gain hands-on farming experience while completing an apprenticeship in agriculture.

OVERVIEW OF LANGUAGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
Cornwall Park Trust Board requires the following in the ideal candidates:
Languages Required
- Basic English communication (verbal and written)
Education & Experience
- Practical experience in stock handling and pasture management (preferred)
- Commitment to completing NZ Certificate in Agriculture – Meat and Fibre (Level 3/4) within 3 years
Specializations
- Livestock and pasture management
- Animal health programme support
- Farm machinery and equipment handling
Credentials
- NZ Restricted driver’s licence
- Ability to pass police checks

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Apprentice Farm Hand at Cornwall Park, you will:
- Assist with feeding, stock movement, and lambing activities
- Support herd breeding programmes
- Deliver animal health treatments (drenching, vaccination, crutching, parasite control)
- Assist with weed control, pasture and crop establishment
- Carry out fencing and general farm maintenance
- Operate farm machinery and vehicles safely
- Interact with the public respectfully on-site
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role involves:
- Hands-on animal husbandry and physical farm work
- Outdoor-based tasks across a working urban farm
- Working with a supportive, purpose-driven team
